He Makes ALL Things New

Spring is such an amazing time of year. Everything that has been dead for months begins anew. It never ceases to amaze me how fast this change occurs. You can drive by a field that is completely brown one day and the next day....it is entirely green. Yesterday I was in awe of how lush the grass looks. It has been cloudy and rainy the last couple of days and the dark green grass against the gray backdrop of the sky is absolutely breath taking. New buds of life adorn the tree's and flowers are beginning to poke their heads up out of the ground for their first glimpse of the year.

I don't think there is a season that reminds me of God more than Spring. It is truly the paradox of our life in Christ. We come to Him brown, broken, wilting, lifeless. He speaks Truth to us and we become stronger. He speaks Hope to us and we become green again. He speaks Love to us and we begin to bloom, poking our heads up out of the ground for our first glimpse of eternal life. Our branches begin to flower because our Vine is strong and provides us with all we need to produce good fruit. Jesus is the Spring of our lives and we are new.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

I too love the beauty of spring. It seems each season brings something incredible, but the colors and life of spring is AMAZING and God did that for us!

I don't see that changes down here, but I can see God still making all things new, without the green! I miss Iowa in this regard! I have memories!

Heather, I LOVE spring! It is my favorite season of the year, and I often question why winter lasts so long and spring just flies in and slides out so quickly. It's amazing how some of the annual flowers can weather the storms of winter, and still spring forth in all their glory each spring. Just as in your analogy, weathering the storms and coming through in radiance is just like my Lord!! He brings us through, and we shine forth as gold. PTL!

Another sure sign of spring for us...we just put our flag back out on the flag pole at our cottage, and put the light house/house number ceramic piece out. Now to turn the water on, and we're good to go! I have this cute little cottage next to our house just ready and waiting for guests. Let me know when you are coming!!
